Extending a Leasehold Right

Is your leasehold right about to expire? You can apply for an extension.

What does this product or service mean?

Your leasehold right is valid for 60 years. Once it expires, you can apply to extend the same leasehold.

The expiry date is stated in your deed or Land Registry extract.

You must submit a complete application with all the documents listed below.

How do you apply for this?

Follow these steps:

  1. Write a letter requesting an extension, addressed to the Executive Council of the Public Entity Bonaire.
  2. Attach a Land Registry extract, a copy of your ID, proof of payment of $280 to Civil Affairs, and your correct address and telephone number.
  3. Submit the letter and attachments at the service desk of the Directorate of Spatial Planning and Development (R&O).
