Dividing Leasehold Land

Would you like to divide a leasehold plot? Submit a written request for permission to the Directorate of Spatial Planning and Development (R&O).

What does this product or service mean?

Whether the plot may be divided depends on its zoning designation. You must also provide a site plan showing where you want the division to be made.

When can you apply for this?

In most cases, a leasehold parcel is divided into two when it contains two homes, allowing each home to be situated on a separate parcel of at least 350 m².

How do you apply for this?

  1. Write a request letter to the Directorate of Spatial Planning and Development (R&O).
  2. Attach:
    1. A copy of the owner's ID;
    2. A copy of the Land Registry extract showing that the applicant is the owner of the parcel;
    3. A copy of the building permit;
    4. A photograph of the home;
    5. A site plan showing where the applicant wants the parcel to be divided.
  3. Submit your request at the service desk or by email to directie_ro@bonairegov.com.
  4. You will receive the decision or a request for additional information.

This depends on the assessment and any coordination required with other parties.
