Public Space Permit - Short-Term

Would you like to temporarily use public land on Bonaire? If so, you’ll need a public space permit (APK). This permit allows you to place objects on public land for a short period of time.

What should you pay attention to?

You must submit the application at least 6 weeks before the start of the activity.
If the form is not fully completed, the application will not be processed.

The public space permit APK is a permit for the temporary use of public land.
The permit always has a clear start and end date.
The permit expires automatically upon expiration.

This permit is often used for:

  • construction activities, such as containers, scaffolding, and building materials
  • events
  • temporary outdoor seating areas

You pay a precario tax for the use of the land on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

  • You are using public land temporarily
  • You specify a clear start and end date
  • You submit all required documents
  • You comply with applicable policies and laws
  • You pay the application fees and the public land use tax

How do you apply for this?

Here’s how to apply for the Precario APK permit:

  • Complete the application form in full. The form includes the following:
    • applicant’s information
    • location and activity
    • placement of objects
    • dimensions of the billboard (please note the advertising policy)
  • Submit all required documents, including:
    • a valid ID
    • proof of payment of $20.95
    • a copy of the legal entity’s details (if applicable)
    • a site plan or location map
    • a sample of the advertising text or design (if applicable)

You must submit the form with all documents 6 weeks before the start of the activity.

The Precario APK permit costs $20.95.
In addition, you pay a precario tax on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
