Public Space Permit - Long-Term

Would you like to use public land on Bonaire for an extended period? If so, you will need a public space permit. This permit is intended for permanent and recurring use.

A public land use permit does not grant you ownership or a permanent right.
The Public Entity of Bonaire may modify or revoke the permit.

The public space permit is a permit for permanent or structural use of public land.
The permit is open-ended or multi-year and usually has no fixed expiration date.

Examples of use include:

  • permanent patios
  • advertising structures
  • permanent installations
  • cables or pipes

The permit is reviewedannually.
The Public Entity of Bonaire may terminate or revoke the permit.
The public space tax is usually assessed annually.

When can you apply for this?

You must meet the following requirements:

  • You use public land on a permanent or long-term basis
  • You comply with rules and policies
  • You accept that the permit may be modified or terminated
  • You pay the public land use tax
  • You use the land as agreed

How do you apply for this?

Here’s how to apply for a public land use permit:

  • Complete the application form in full
  • Submit all required documents, including:
    • Copy of ID
    • Proof of payment of application fees
    • Company articles of incorporation or Chamber of Commerce registration (required for businesses)
    • Copy of business license

Once the application is complete, it will be processed. The Public Entity of Bonaire will review your application
