Opening a Hotel

Would you like to start a hotel on Bonaire?
A hotel is a place where you offer rooms and meals to guests. Guests pay for their stay. You may also sell drinks, ice cream, or food to guests.

What does this product or service mean?

You can only open a hotel once you have obtained all the necessary permits.
Make sure you have a business license before you start.
You may also need other permits, such as:

  • environmental permit
  • liquor and hospitality permit
  • restaurant permit

When can you apply for this?

To open a hotel, you must:

  • have a business establishment permit
  • have sufficient knowledge of running a hotel
  • have sufficient funds to start the hotel
  • have no plans that conflict with the public interest
  • be registered with the Chamber of Commerce

How do you apply for this?

Here’s how to open a hotel:

  1. First, apply for a business establishment permit.
  2. Check which additional permits you need, such as a liquor license or restaurant permit.
  3. Apply for the additional permits with the Public Entity of Bonaire (OLB).
  4. Submit all required documents.
  5. Pay the fees for the permits.

You can receive a business license within 6 business days.
Additional licenses may take longer, depending on the type of license.
