Guarantee

Sometimes, when hosting a visitor from abroad, you’ll need a guarantee or private lodging arrangement. You can apply for this at the Civil Affairs Department.

What does this product or service mean?

What should you pay attention to?

If you have a partner, both you and your partner must sign the guarantee.

If you are hosting a visitor from abroad, your guest may need a guarantee or a private accommodation arrangement. For example, to apply for a visa.

The guarantee means that you and your guest are jointly responsible for the costs. This ensures your guest does not run into trouble if he or she can no longer afford the costs of their stay—for example, because your guest no longer has access to their funds. Is your foreign visitor staying at your home? With a private lodging arrangement, they can show border control officials where they are staying on Bonaire.

Does your guest need a visa? Then you must sign the guarantee form at the Civil Affairs Department. This is how you have your signature notarized. This means you are verifying that the signature on the form is genuinely yours.
