Are you organizing an event or musical performance between December 11, 2026, and January 10, 2027? Or do you want to sell or set off fireworks during this period? The Public Entity of Bonaire (OLB) is urging residents and business owners to submit their permit applications and notifications no later than November 6, 2026.
This applies to event permits, food service permits, and the necessary (street vending) permits for selling and setting off fireworks. By submitting applications on time, the OLB can assess the planned activities and take public order and safety into account. Applications received after the deadline will not be processed.
Permits and Notifications for Musical Performances
A permit is required for public events and performances by musical groups, such as gaita, aguinaldo, barí, and tambú.
In addition to the permit, you must notify the Traffic Division of the Caribbean Netherlands Police Corps (KPCN) of the performance at least two days in advance. For performances at the kiosk on Plaza di Frateman di Tilburg, a notification period of at least one week applies.
At this kiosk, performances are only permitted on Sundays, outside the hours when church services are held at the San Bernardo Church.
Permits are not issued for performances at the following locations:
• The entire length of Kaya Korona;
• Ons Hoekje on Kaya Avelino J. (Abechi) Cecilia;
• The corner of Kaya L.D. Gerharts and Kaya Lib. Simon Bolivar;
• The corner of Kaya Grandi and Kaya L.D. Gerharts;
• Kaya Noord and Kaya Zuid Nikiboko;
• Kas di Hadrei on Bulevar Miguel Pourier.
Submit Applications Digitally
Submit your permit application digitally via the Public Entity of Bonaire’s website. The deadline for submission is November 6, 2026.
Do you want to sell or set off fireworks? If so, be sure to apply for the required (sales) permit by this date as well.
Will fireworks be used during your event? If so, contact Selibon N.V. in advance regarding cleanup costs or a security deposit. Include proof of payment with your permit application.
Picking Up Your Permit
Permits that have been applied for by November 6, 2026, and have been granted must be picked up by December 17, 2026, at Kaya Industria Pariba 28.
Without the required permit, you are in violation of the law. The OLB or the police may then take action.
