You can request the following personal data from the Civil Registry:
- Civil registry records: birth, marriage, and death certificates dating back to 1811.
- Death certificates become public after 50 years;
- Marriage certificates become public after 75 years;
- Birth certificates become public after 100 years.
- Population register: family records and other data from 1850 to 1997.

How do you apply for this?
You can request a genealogical search from the Civil Affairs Department. To do so, make an appointment online.
You must pay a security deposit when you submit your request. A security deposit is money you pay in advance. You will receive this money back once the search is complete.
If there are additional costs associated with the search, they may be deducted from the security deposit. You will be refunded the remaining amount.
