The Office of the Governor supports the Governor in carrying out his statutory duties. The Office provides advice on governance and security.
Below you will find a description of the duties and services provided by the Office of the Governor.
Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG)
The Governor is responsible for issuing Certificates of Good Conduct (VOG) to individuals. You must submit your request for a VOG to the Governor’s Office.
A VOG demonstrates that your conduct poses no issue for a specific position. This is important for positions that require reliability.

Firearm Authorizations and Consents
Firearms are not permitted on Bonaire. In some cases, however, possession of a firearm may be permitted. The Governor plays an important role in this regard. He is responsible for issuing:
- consents for the import, transit, or export of firearms;
- firearm authorizations for the possession of legal firearms, for example, for sport shooting.
