Would you like to contribute to the health of children and adolescents on Bonaire? GGD Bonaire is looking for 2 (full-time equivalent) dedicated and independent Youth Health Care (JGZ) nurses to work 28–36 hours per week.

Wat ga je doen?

As a Youth Health Care Nurse at GGD Bonaire, you’ll work to ensure that children and youth on the island grow up healthy and safe. You’ll provide youth health care to the 0-19, with a focus on accessible support, guidance, and education for parents and children. You’ll actively collaborate with schools, partner organizations, and GGD colleagues. You’ll be active at the well-child clinic and/or in school health care, and you’ll also enjoy outreach work, such as being part of a care team at schools and during home visits. You’ll actively contribute ideas on how to strengthen youth health care on Bonaire and collaborate with GGD colleagues on various projects relevant to the youth health care target group.

Wat zijn de eisen

  • A nurse with an MBO+ or HBO degree, with demonstrable work experience in youth health care. BIG registration is a definite plus.
  • Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity.
  • Independent, reliable, and flexible enough to work at various locations on Bonaire.
  • An affinity for project-based work and cross-organizational collaboration.
  • A proactive attitude and reflective skills (through participation in peer review, involvement in training, and within the framework of quality assurance)

To be eligible to work for the Public Entity of Bonaire, you must, in addition to the aforementioned requirements, also meet the criteria described below.

  • You speak and write Dutch well; preferably, you also speak and write English and/or Spanish;
  • You speak Papiamentu or are willing to learn it within a year;
  • You are proficient in working with digital systems.

Wat wij jou bieden

At the Public Entity of Bonaire, we value our employees. You’ll notice this in the workplace, but also in the compensation you receive for your work. If you do not meet all the requirements for this position, we will place you on pay scale 9. This ranges from a minimum of $3,225 to a maximum of $4,185 per month. The standard salary for this position falls under pay scale 10, resulting in a monthly salary ranging from a minimum of $3,825 to a maximum of $4,625. In addition, you can count on:

  • 8.33% vacation pay;
  • A full 13th month’s salary;
  • 168 hours of leave and 5 additional pre-scheduled days off;
  • An excellent pension plan;
  • A full-time workweek of (28) 36 hours;
  • A 1-year contract. If both parties are satisfied, there is an option for permanent employment.

Your salary will be based on your education, skills, and experience. Your workweek schedule is flexible and will be determined in consultation with your manager. In addition, we offer a number of other attractive benefits, which we’d be happy to tell you more about during the application process!
