This day highlights the important contribution that older people have made - and continue to make - to Bonairean society.
Timoteo Silberie, the Executive Member for Directorate of Community and Care, addresses all older people on Bonaire with a message:
“I consider it a vital responsibility to work towards a Bonaire where everyone can age with respect and receive the support they need. You have contributed to the Bonaire we know today. You have worked, cared for families, and passed on your knowledge and experience to new generations.
I call upon the entire community to keep our older citizens in mind - not just on this day, but throughout the year. A visit, a phone call, a conversation, or simply taking the time to listen can mean a great deal,” said Executive Member Silberie.
The Public Entity of Bonaire wishes all older people a wonderful Day of Older Persons and thanks them for everything they have done - and continue to do - for Bonaire.
