"You've got the power" campaign to reduce power use and costs

The Public Entity of Bonaire has launched a new campaign: "You've Got the Power." The goal of this campaign is to raise public awareness about reducing electricity usage and cutting costs. The campaign emphasises that everyone can reduce their energy consumption. Many people struggle to pay their electricity bills. Even for those with a fair income, the cost of electricity is often significant.

Two years ago, the Directorate of Community and Care launched the "No laga koriente dal bo duru" campaign. This initiative allows residents to apply for a refund of up to USD 1,300 on their electricity bills or Pagabon expenses, depending on their income. Applications for this refund are still open at www.bonairegov.com/stroom.

The focus of the "You've Got the Power" campaign is on empowering all residents to take steps to reduce their electricity costs. For those who qualify, the Island Government will provide financial assistance by reimbursing a portion of their electricity expenses. At the same time, the government encourages everyone to be mindful of their electricity consumption.
