How to recognize dengue, Zika and chikungunya?

These viruses can make you very sick. Keep an eye out for the symptoms below and contact your doctor if you suspect dengue, chikungunya or Zika. The GP can order laboratory tests to be done so you can be sure if you have one of the viruses.  Your GP can give you advice on what to do about the fever and pain.

Symptoms

Sudden (high) fever and chills Sudden fever Sudden high fever
Headache, especially behind the eyes Eye inflammation Severe joint pain
Muscle and joint pain Muscle and joint pain, especially of the hands and feet Headache
Nausea and vomiting Skin rash, often first on the face Muscle pain
Skin rash Sometimes: headache, lack of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain Skin rash (with red bumps)
Eye problems
If you have any of these diseases, you can transmit them to others through mosquitoes!
