Build a house

If you are going to build a house, you will need a building permit.

U dient eerst een vergunning te hebben alvorens u op het terrein gaat bouwen . Een architect of bouwkundig tekenaar kunt u hierbij ondersteunen. 

Onvolledige aanvragen nemen wij niet in behandeling.

If you are going to build or renovate something, you will need a building permit. Requests for building permits are processed and issued by the permits unit of the Realization department at the spatial and development directorate.

U dient een ingezetene te zijn van het openbaar lichaam Bonaire.

Approach

How to submit a request to build a residential house:

  • You must be aware of the financial possibilities when building a residential house.
  • You must own a plot or have leased land.
  • You must submit a request via...
  • You must attach the following documents to your request:
    • a notarial deed of the plot
    • a written statement (Kadaster)
    • a survey certificate (Kadaster)
    • a construction drawing in A1 format (including site plan)
    • you must be familiar with the technical submission requirements as stated in the checklist.
  • You must pay the required building fees related to your application.

Period

Wij streven ernaar om verzoeken binnen 16 weken na ontvangst van de aanvraag af te ronden.  
Het bestuurscollege kan de beslissing met ten hoogste acht weken verdagen. 

Costs

U ontvangt per e-mail een opgemaakte legesbrief voor het betalen van de bouwleges.

Objection and appeal

Tegen een Besluit op de aanvraag kunt u binnen 6 weken na de datum van het besluit bezwaren kenbaar maken bij het Bestuurscollege of Beroep instellen bij het Gerecht in eerste aanleg.

The BES Personal Data Protection Act states how the public body of Bonaire must do this.

The most important rules are:

  • The Public Entity of Bonaire only requests information that is necessary to process your request or report.
  • They register and process your data securely, confidentially and carefully.
  • Your data will only be used for the request or notification, or something directly related to it.
  • Your data will not be kept longer than is necessary for the request or notification.
  • Other organizations will only receive your data if this is required by law.
  • You can ask what your data is used for and what happens to it.
